In March of 2019 I flew to Reykjavik for my first solo trip out of the country. As someone who, for most of my life, had been afraid to leave home, this trip was way out of my comfort zone. As daunting as it was to hop on a plane and fly so far from home, this was an adventure I had been craving, but too afraid to act upon.

Before this spark of courage pushed me to book those flights, I lived vicariously as a traveler through movies, music, and YouTube. I watched content about crawling out of your shell, drawing closer to the unknown, and connecting to yourself and the Earth in a way you never have before.

Iceland was my first step on a long journey to connect with the world around me, with each new place teaching it’s own life lessons.
