28.) Nick Brandt

Nick Brandt is an English wildlife photographer. He believes that very few photographers have considered wildlife photography as an art form. Brandt focuses on capturing an animal in its sate of being, rather than capturing the drama of wild animals in action. His goal is to extend what was purely a documentative genre. One thing that has a big impact on his images is that he gets very close to the animals, without using a telephoto lens to include as much of the sky and the landscape as possible and capture the atmosphere of the place as well of the animal.

Brandt’s photographs offer a view of Africa that we have not seen before. Through his photos he is able to capture the personalities of the beings being photographed. He also addresses the fact that these beautiful creatures are vanishing, and due to the destruction of humans they might soon be completely gone.
