41.) Alan Kupchick

Alan Kupchick is an American photographer who considers his photographs to be discoveries with no particular path taken to find them. His images are not preconceived or planned, and there is no point that he tries to make. It is only after he looks at the photographs that Kupchick derives any sort of meaning from them. His photographs make the world appear to be a well organized and structured place. Kupchick knows that this is not truly the case, but he enjoys photographing it this way.

This is a very interesting approach to photography. It may seem like a foolish, or unartistic way to create images for the public, but this process still holds a deeper meaning to it. Everyday we all subconsciously make decisions that are directly connected to who we are and how we feel. Kupchick’s photographs could be considered representations of what he desires in life, but perhaps cannot achieve.
