34.) Julie Blackmon

Julie Blackmon is an American photographer who lives and works in Missouri. Her photographs capture the timelessness of family dynamics, and are reflective of her experience growing up in a large family, as well as her roll of being a mother. Her photos go beyond fictional and autobiographical representations of growing up, and explore the fantastic imagined and real elements of everyday life.

In her body of work, “Domestic Vacations”, Blackmon investigates the stress, chaos, and the need to disconnect and connect in our lives. She understands the need to find sanctuary amongst the chaos of raising children, and her work depicts the necessary fuse between fantasy and reality that we strive for in modern domestic life.
